CALLING ALL ADOPTERS! Todd has been in our care since mid-September, which is 90-something too many days for such a good boy! A great age and size, Todd is about 2 years old and clocks in at just under 50 pounds. Although Todd may not the flashiest dog you’ve ever seen, we promise he’s worth a closer look. Exceedingly gentle and sweet, Todd is a bit reserved at first but warms up quickly to humans and canines alike. Although he can be timid to start, he sure does open up around tennis balls and other dogs! Having the good fortune to be in a foster home that also runs a boarding facility, we’ve learned just what a fantastic playmate and pal Todd really is. Since she knows him best, we’ll let his foster mom tell it how it is:
“Todd is doing great! His energy level can be a chill couch potato one minute or a fun crazy guy. It all depends on the crowd. He loves to play with other dogs and by himself. If there is no one to play with he will run around throwing toys up in the air. He also love sun bathing. Todd is wonderful in his crate and when I don’t have eyes on him that’s where he is. He loves to be outside as long as he is with someone. His fav dog to play with is my 1 yr old golden. These two play hard. He will match energy level with whoever he is playing with. Big or small, he is pretty good with them. I think Todd would do well in a home with another dog to play with.”
If you would like to arrange to meet Todd, please start by filling out an application on our website by clicking on his picture. It would make our year to to see very deserving boy finally find his new family, so anyone looking to adopt we hope will consider Todd! Please share!

Today’s Featured Friday Pet is Monkey!

tortoise marked cat lounges on a bed.

Who doesn’t love a strong, independent woman?? Monkey is an opinionated beauty who may be least touchy-feely of all our cats, but has a no-nonsense attitude that’s refreshing and frankly relatable. Playful, spirited and spunky, Monkey loves a laser pointer, hates being picked up, and isn’t afraid to dish out a little back-sass. Although she’s only 3 years old, Sophia from the Golden Girls might be her spirit animal. Look up “tortie-tude” in the dictionary, and you may find an actual picture of our beloved Monkey.
Although Monkey’s strong willed nature isn’t for everyone, she does have lots of great qualities that will make her a great cat for the right person. Monkey has lived with dogs, so someone looking for a canine-savvy kitty should consider this confident feline. With that said, being queen of her castle with no other pets around might also suit her just fine. She’s probably a bit too saucy for young kids, but she has successfully lived with older kids that respect her authority. Monkey also may be a cat that would enjoy some safe outdoor access when she’s comfortable in a new home. This lovely little diva is sure to bring a lot of joy to the lucky person willing to worship her suitably! If you think Monkey might be the cat for you, please stop in to meet her today! Adoption fees are only $15 until Christmas Eve!

Today’s Featured Friday Pet is Gillian!

Hey friends, let us tell you about this sweet baby angel Gillian! Gillian is what we call in the trades a “boneless wonder” because she’ll quickly turn to jelly as soon as you bust out her favorite belly rubs! Estimated at about 4 years old, Gillian is the perfect age and has a wonderful moderate energy level. Sweet and submissive with her beloved humans, Gillian adores physical contact (especially the aforementioned belly rubs) and her gentle nature may make her a good choice for young children. Her lovely personality, sweet eyes and pleasant smile are so easy to fall in love with – we certainly have, and we think you will too!

Gillian may prefer to be the only dog child in the home, or may work with dog-savvy owners that won’t rush a friendship with a resident dog. Among her other great qualities, she seems to be house-trained, loves walks, and already has some basic commands under her belt. Anyone seeking a great, out-of-the-box family dog should give the lovely Gillian a closer look! Since Gillian has been in our care over two weeks, her adoption fee is discounted! Please stop by and ask to meet her today!
