Dear Supporter,
Helene dealt our area a deft blow. Our community is devastated. Some of our superhero staff stayed with the animals in our care for six days and nights to ensure our animals received the best possible care. We will be forever in their debt. I cannot help but feel deep admiration for their dedication and passion.
In the immediate days after the storm hit, our community stepped up to take many of our animals into foster care. And, very early Tuesday morning, I drove the remaining animals at our Adoption Center alongside BRHS Board Director Caroline Gunther to a transport, where they were transferred to a partner organization in Mississippi. We are deeply grateful for this resource in our own time of need.
We will now turn our attention to our community, which needs us. Our next step will be to provide support, food, and supplies to our neighbors.
With all of our revenue sources shut down and the need to assist more pets, we are asking those who were not affected by the storm to consider making a financial gift so that we can commit to caring for pets and pet owners who need us, and so we can tend to the needs of our staff. Every dollar will be matched up to $22,500!
Our community’s people and pets will need us as we rebuild over the coming weeks and months. Stay strong, Hendersonville. We are stronger together and will need each other to make it through.
Sincerely,
Angela Prodrick, Executive Director
