When victims of interpersonal violence seek to escape their abusive homes, they’re not only faced with the challenge of finding shelter for themselves and their children but also for their pets. That is where we step in to help.

Blue Ridge Humane Society is excited to announce a new partnership with Safelight – Hope and Healing for families to offer pet kennels housing dogs and cats at Safelight’s emergency shelter for domestic violence survivors. We will help ensure the pets are taking clients while clients focus on caring for themselves.
If you are in need of assistance, please reach out directly to Safelight by calling (828) 693-3840.
Red Rover offers emergency care funding, resources, and support to low-income individuals and survivors of domestic violence escaping abuse with their pets.
