Blue Ridge Humane Society is honored to have some of the most dedicated volunteers around. Our volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that we are constantly moving forward in our efforts to protect homeless pets in our community.
Do you love animals? Well walking dogs or cuddling cats would be a perfect volunteer gig. Do you want to help homeless pets without spending time at the Shelter? Come work at our Thrift Store. Our volunteers do it all and without them we would not be able to save hundreds of animals’ lives each and every year!
We love to see families and friends volunteering together! We welcome all volunteers ages 7 and up. Volunteers ages 16 and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who has also completed the appropriate volunteer training.
Ask us about our Tails to Trails and Downtown Dogs volunteer programs!
Once you have completed our dog walker training, you are welcome to take one of our shelter dogs hiking on some of the beautiful scenic trails in our community through our Tails to Trails program or take one of the shelter dogs out for a leisurely walk in town through our Downtown Dogs program.
Are you looking for some local dog friendly hikes to take our shelter dogs? Take your pick from some of the best trails Henderson County has to offer in this hiking with dogs guidepublished by the Friends of Carl Sandburg.
