Preventative care like vaccines, flea/tick and heartworm medication is essential to your pet’s health pets and decreases the chances of expensive veterinary bills. If you are a Henderson County resident needing over-the-counter flea and tick preventative, please feel free to complete this Pet Help Request Form.

1 Year Rabies Vaccination Appointments
We are now offering 1 year rabies vaccines by appointment. Appointments are required, and spots are limited. Once all appointments for a date are booked, the registration form will be taken down until the next clinic dates are released. Be sure to check back often for new openings or see additional resources for low-cost routine care below. Rabies vaccines are $15.

August Heartworm Clinic Information

Did you know a single mosquito bite can transmit heartworm disease, a potentially fatal condition for dogs?
The good news? Prevention is easy and affordable! Blue Ridge Humane Society offers low-cost heartworm testing and prevention for dogs at our upcoming clinic! Protect your dog for a fraction of the cost—because prevention is far cheaper than treatment.
We kindly ask that you complete a registration form in advance to help us expedite the on-site check-in process. CLICK HERE to access the registration form.

Services offered at this clinic:
If your dog receives a negative test, you will have the option to purchase a bundle of 12 months of Heartworm prevention at a reduced cost. We will not sell single doses of prevention. The cost for prevention will be as follows, based on the weight of your dog:
0-25 lbs: $45 for 12 months of prevention
Topical over the counter flea and tick prevention will also be available for $12 per dose.
Our clinic operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Dogs must be on leashes & cats must be in carriers. Please be prepared to be patient while you and your pet(s) wait in your car.
