BRHS Announces Grand Opening of Second Thrift Store Location & Kick-off of Ashley Furniture Sale

Until recently the Blue Ridge Humane Society (BRHS) Thrift Store located at 1214 Greenville Highway had been the number one source of revenue for the care of the animals in the BRHS shelter located in Edneyville. To help meet the ever increasing costs of maintaining that shelter, which cares for approximately 75 animals every day, BRHS has opened a second Thrift Store located at 1034 Greenville Highway in the Brookdale Square Shopping Center.  The Grand Opening Celebration for the second location will be held Friday, July 26^th and Saturday, July 27^th. The Henderson County Chamber of Commerce will assist with the Ribbon Cutting at the second location at 11:30am on Friday, July 26^th.  The public is invited and there will be refreshments. Friday, July 26^th, will also be a day of specials inside both Thrift Stores.  BRHS knows the value of each customer and considers each person who shops in our stores to be a “giftâ€.  So to show our appreciation, on Friday, July 26^th, BRHS will be giving each customer a gift.   When opened, it might contain a gift certificate, a special coupon, or a notice that you’ve won something for free! The Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, July 27^th will be the kick-off of the New Ashley Furniture Sale. Recently Ashley Furniture gave Blue Ridge Humane Society a very generous donation of over 80 brand new items.  The donation included new mattresses and box springs, sofas, chairs, dressers, night stands, dining room tables, and more.  The new Ashley pieces will be available in both stores beginning Saturday, July 27^th. Terri Thompson, Director of Retail for BRHS said, “We were delighted to receive the brand new items from Ashley Furniture.  When we sell these donated pieces in our thrift stores, the funds generated may be used to purchase necessary medical supplies, microchips, food, or might even pay for an animal’s emergency surgery.  Bighearted companies like Ashley Furniture are like angels for our animals.†As part of the Grand Opening Celebration a “Pet Adoption Event†will also be held at the Brookdale Square Thrift Store location on Saturday from 11am to 3pm. Animals that are currently up for adoption through the BRHS Animal Shelter will be in the store.  If you are interested in adopting, you can meet with shelter staff to find out more about the process.
