a BRHS Sibling Reunion

“Our Plott Hound / Doberman mixes were adopted last fall and turned a year old this May. There were 4 puppies in the litter. Eric and Michelle Peterson adopted “Freddie”and we adopted “Leo.”

We never knew our pup had siblings as he was the only one left when we went in to visit.
We never met Freddie or her family, though our paths must have just missed crossing.
We knew from the second we saw Conway, now Leo, that he was the one for us! (Another example of the great matchmaking and thought out into adoptions at BRHS.) I am grateful that Michelle, owner of Freddie (Leo’s sister) reached out to BRHS on a whim to see about a reunion. Though BRHS cannot give out the numbers of adoptive families, they offered to call us to make help a connection.

These photos were taken at our reunion in June at Jackson Park Dog Park. (Also pictured is our 10 year old beagle mix rescue.) Leo and Freddie ran straight to one another out of all the other dogs at the park! Freddie taught Leo how to catch a ball and Leo taught Freddie how to swim! They romped and frolicked and bounded and leapt like they had been together all their lives. Onlookers asked if they were siblings and we had the opportunity to share all about BRHS and our stories!! Thank you, For all that you all do to love our pets.” – Susan
