7th Avenue Goes to the Dogs!

Blue Ridge Humane Society Partners with Historic 7th Avenue Businesses for Inaugural “Pup Crawl”

Dog owners and pet lovers are invited to bring their pups and friends to tour the breweries and bars of 7th Avenue as they participate in the first Historic 7th Avenue District Pup Crawl presented by First Citizens Bank. The event will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019 and benefits Blue Ridge Humane Society. Hosted by Guidon Brewing, the Brandy Bar, Southern Appalachian Brewing, and Triskelion, each stop will feature a pet giveaway or treat as well as an interactive activity hosted by a local pet-centric business such as paw print painting, paw reading, a cooling station, and more! Crawlers may also enjoy special brews and drink specials just for the Pup Crawl at the host venues.

As crawlers travel around 7th Avenue they’ll receive a stamp at each location as they participate in each activity. When their pupport is full they’ll be entered into a grand prize drawing for a basket of merchandise and gift certificates from Guidon Brewing, the Brandy Bar, Southern Appalachian Brewing, and Triskelion. Day of Registration will be available for $20 at any of the locations at the Blue Ridge table. Each pupport includes giveaways at each stop for participating pets and most activities, with some activities offered by donation. Proceeds from the event, as well as $1 per full house pour, will provide rescue services for animals in Henderson County.

Check in at the Blue Ridge table at any of the participating locations (Guidon Brewing, the Brandy Bar, Southern Appalachian Brewing, and Triskelion) and receive your Pupport and bag of treats! Once you check in at one spot you are set for the entire event! There is no required order to how you visit the stops, so create the schedule and route that is the most fun for you.

Parking is available along 7th Avenue, 8th Avenue, Maple St, Locust Street, and on many of the side streets. The event area is very walkable and covers about a 3×2 block area. We’ll have water bowls available at each stop for the pups.

No Pup, but want to Support? All of the participating businesses are also donating a $1 per full house pour back to Blue Ridge so feel free to invite your friends to join you at a stop or two!

To ensure a puptacular day for all…

Check your dog’s health and mood before he/she joins us. If your dog is not feeling 100% or seems irritable, please keep him/her home for the day. You will be showing them just as much love by keeping them resting in non-ideal circumstances.

Enjoy togetherness while you explore by keeping your dog on his/her favorite leash. Do not, however, use a long (6 ft or more) leash. Also- help your dog by staying in control. Public events can be busy places with a lot of stimuli for dogs. Keep them calm so they can have a good time with you on a special day out.

Bring along some means to keep your doggie hydrated. There will be water stations at each location but you may want your own portable dish or squirt bottle for your pup.

Grand Prize – Valued at over $500!

  • Southern Appalachian $50 Gift Certificate, Hat, and Stickers
  • Guidon Brewing $50 Gift Certificate and T-Shirt (may exchange for preferred size)
  • Triskelion Brewing $50 Gift Certificate, T-Shirt (may exchange for preferred size), 2 Pint Glasses, Stickers, and Bottle Opener
  • Brandy Bar $50 Gift Certificate
  • Bark Box 3 Month Subscription
  • Assorted Pet Toys & Treats from Wag! A Unique Pet Boutique
