Blue Ridge Humane Celebrates 70 Years with $19.50 Adoption Fees

This November, Blue Ridge Humane Society is celebrating 70 years of providing animal rescue, spay/neuter services, and community programs in Henderson County.

Founded in 1950 by a group of local residents concerned with addressing animal overpopulation and providing second chances for animals in the community, their vision of providing pet adoptions, resources for pets in need, spay/neuter programs, and working with a strong network of community partners to address animal welfare needs has remained strong, and grown to encompass more than animal rescue with Blue Ridge Humane Society’s Beyond Adoptions philosophy.

In celebration of 70 years of operation, Blue Ridge Humane Society will be discounting pet adoption fees to $19.50 starting on November 10, hosting an online silent auction November 18-21, revisiting the stories of animals served by Blue Ridge Humane, and more.

“Our anniversary celebration is a bright spot in an otherwise difficult year,” shares Executive Director Angela Prodrick. “It is heartwarming to look back at the impact that Blue Ridge Humane has had in the community over the past 70 years, and see thousands of animals saved through adoption, assistance programs, and more.
