Our foster volunteers open their homes and hearts by providing shelter, food, care (at no cost), and love for their foster pets.
Our foster program temporarily places animals at our shelter into volunteer homes. Foster animals range from prenatal kittens to dogs who may just need a break from staying at the shelter and everything in between.
When you become a foster parent, you not only provide our Adoption Center with much-needed space but also provide a homeless pet with a home before their future family adopts them. A shelter animal’s stay in your home is temporary, but you have the potential to change their life forever.
Become a Foster Family!
Are you interested in joining our phenomenal team of foster families?
Get started by filling out an application.
The animals listed below are a few in our care looking for foster families to provide warm laps until they are ready for their own homes!
Please note that you are signing up to become a Blue Ridge Humane Society foster, not signing up to foster a specific animal. Once you join our foster program, our foster staff will work with you to provide training and supplies and find the right fit for your new foster!
