Testimonial by Sue Stanton, CiCi’s Proud and Loving Person

“I saw a shelter photo of (then) Moonie, now our beloved CiCi (for ‘Chocolate Chihuahua’), and it was love at first sight! I was advised about her deformed foot, but when I saw that little face it didn’t matter. My husband and I went to meet her and she was very shy.  She did take a treat eventually and we were hooked.  We moved forward with the adoption, waiting for her to be spayed.  She was about 6-months old at the time we asked for an x-ray to be done of her foot. We were advised that it was genetic, so we adopted her in September 2016.   I took the x-ray to my vet for another opinion and was told the same thing. I will never forgot how he worded it:  ‘Cici is the only one in the room that doesn’t know she has a deformity.’  She is the sweetest little soul. She lets nothing hold her back, she runs with the pack. (I already had two Chihuahuas at the time–now we have four!) CiCi loves her brothers and sisters. She chases them around the yard, running and jumping like she rules the world.  She has her own favorite game: If you run your hand across the carpet, she stomps on it and chases it like she’s a cat.  Well now, she does also live with two cats!  We adopted kittens from BRHS also this past Fathers’ Day.  Cici is a big Daddy’s Girl and sleeps wrapped in a pink blankey on his pillow. At bedtime she does donuts, stops for a kiss, then does donuts again!  One of her favorite treats is baby carrots–her eyes get big as she chomps bits off, but you better watch your fingers, lol !! She’s an absolute gem.”
