We’re Expanding Our Community Support Programs!
We are excited to announce that we are expanding our community support programs to include a walk-in Community Support Market and affordable 1-year rabies vaccines by appointment.
Beginning Tuesday, April 7th, the new Community Support Market will be open to the public every Tuesday from 1:00–4:00 PM at 353 Banner Farm Road in Mills River. Community members may stop by to access pet food, supplies, and support services without an appointment. Visitors are welcome to enter through the front door and receive the items they need during these open hours.
“This change is about accessibility and meeting people where they are,” said BRHS Executive Director Angela Prodrick. “For many families, navigating appointments or systems can feel overwhelming when they are already facing challenges with their pets. By offering dedicated open hours on Tuesdays, we are creating a welcoming space where people can simply walk in, ask questions, and access support. Our goal is to mirror the experience people have in our Adoption Center, a place that feels open, approachable, and centered on helping both people and animals. When we make it easier for community members to connect with resources, we strengthen the bond between pets and the families who love them,” Prodrick added.
In addition, we are also now offering affordable 1-year rabies vaccines by appointment at their Adoption Center located at 88 Centipede Lane in Hendersonville. Appointments are required for this service, and spots are limited. Appointment request forms are located here.
We are so excited to welcome everyone to these new community support offerings!
