Foster Friday: A Senior’s Second Chance

This Friday we are celebrating the story of Tabitha! Tabitha was a formerly abandoned senior that came into our county facility in terrible condition and with a host of issues – emaciated, dirty, with a horribly infected tooth and raging eye infection. We felt as though we could help, and placed Tabitha with Beka, one of our fosters that loves older kitties.

Beka brought Tabitha to several vet appointments at Apple Valley Animal Hospital, who helped us get a plan going for Tabitha, and after about a month her condition had improved immensely! Now more stable, she moved to another foster, where she shared her space with her new foster mom Jessica, two small dogs and another cat. After some space to herself getting used to her new digs, Tabitha instantly made friends with everyone, and it seemed like she had been there her whole life. Jessica soon realized Tabitha was already home – with her.

Although the term “foster fail” has gotten a lot of traction in recent years, in most cases, this one in particular, we feel it’s nothing but a complete success. Tabitha still has some pending medical needs, but after everything she has been through, we are just so thankful that she finally has a cozy, comfortable home to call her own. Many thanks to Beka for fostering, and to Jessica for not only fostering, but giving this very deserving old girl the retirement home of her dreams.

We love you Tabitha!
